Our local fire department visited us this week! They loaded us up with tons of useful tips. They reminded the students about Halloween safety, the importance of seat belts, treatment for burns and Internet safety rules. The firemen also taught the students about "EDITH": Exit Drills In The Home. EDITH reminds the students they should know two different exits from their house, have a working smoke detector, and a meeting place for their family in case of a fire. Gun safety was also discussed. Students were taught what to do if they ever see a gun: stop, don't touch, leave the area, and tell an adult.
